Rakennustalo undergoes complete renovation

The Rakennustalo building on the TUT campus will be gradually renovated between 2012 and 2014.

The building dates back to 1984 and is well past its prime. It no longer meets modern requirements and is equipped with outdated technology. The renovation will cost 12 million euros.

The Rakennustalo building houses the Department of Civil Engineering and the School of Architecture. The surface area amounts to 13,994 square metres.

“The objective is to create a modern, functional study and research environment that meets international standards,“ says Aki Havia, Head of Property Development and Investment at University properties of Finland Ltd
