Prof. Samuli Pekkola appointed editor-in-chief of the Scandinavian Journal of Information Systems

Professor Samuli Pekkola, Head of the Department of Business Information Management and Logistics at Tampere University of Technology (TUT) has been appointed editor-in-chief of the Scandinavian Journal of Information Systems (SJIS).

SJIS is the oldest information systems journal in Europe and has been published continuously for 23 years. The journal publishes research on the development and use of information systems and related organizational and societal issues.

Research published in SJIS typically draws on the Scandinavian research tradition. As this line of research is not confined by geographical boundaries, the term "Scandinavian" in the title of the journal should be interpreted metaphorically rather than literally. In fact, the majority of articles that have appeared in SJIS in the past few years were authored by researchers residing outside the Scandinavian countries.

Pekkola’s term as editor-in-chief will last for one year. Pekkola has previously served as one of the co-editors of the journal for three years. The journal is published by the Scandinavian Chapter of Association for Information Systems.
