Prof. Martinez Lastra to return as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics

Prof. Lastra (Factory Automation Systems and Technologies Laboratory) at Tampere University of Technology has been appointed as Associated Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics.

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics focuses on knowledge-based factory automation as a means to enhance industrial fabrication and manufacturing processes. This embraces a collection of techniques that use information analysis, manipulation, and distribution to achieve higher efficiency, effectiveness, reliability, and/or security within the industrial environment.

The scope of the Transaction includes reporting, defining, providing a forum for discourse, and informing its readers about the latest developments in intelligent and computer control systems, robotics, factory communications and automation, flexible manufacturing, vision systems, and data acquisition and signal processing.

Prof. Lastra served as Associate Editor during two terms in 2005 and 2006, including the first year when the publication was launched. “I am looking forward to work with the new Editor in Chief (EiC). While it’s a very time consuming task, the effort is rewarded by the gain a scientist earns from such kind of service” Prof. Lastra said.

With an acceptance rate below 10%, the Transcriptions on Industrial Informatics is ranked within the first quartiles of its categories, making the publication a reference for the scientific community. This transaction is sponsored by IEEE Systems, Man, and Cybernetics Society, IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Industrial Applications Society and IEEE Robotics and Automation Society.
