Prof. Leena Ukkonen elected to the AdCom of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society

Prof. Leena Ukkonen from the Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering at Tampere University of Technology (TUT) has been elected to the Administrative Committee (AdCom) of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S).

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society is managed by the AdCom. The committee composition is as follows: the presiding President, the President-Elect, twelve AdCom members elected by the worldwide membership at large, and the four most recent past Presidents. The twelve elected members serve a term of three years and four new members are elected each year. Prof. Ukkonen’s term in AdCom runs from 2013 to 2015.

The field of interest of the IEEE AP-S includes the following: antennas, including analysis, design, development, measurement, and testing; radiation, propagation, and the interaction of electromagnetic waves with discrete and continuous media; and applications and systems pertinent to antennas, propagation, and sensing, such as applied optics, millimeter- and sub-millimeter-wave techniques, antenna signal processing and control, radio astronomy, and propagation and radiation aspects of terrestrial and space-based communication, including wireless, mobile, satellite, and telecommunications. IEEE AP-S has approximately 8,000 members around the world.
