Presidents of Finnish universities endorse Tampere3

The presidents and rectors of Finnish universities hail Tampere3 as a forerunner in the development of higher education in Finland.

Tampere3 is a collaborative project launched by Tampere University of Applied Sciences, Tampere University of Technology and the University of Tampere. The aim of the project is to establish an academic community that serves the needs of industry and the broader society, builds on the respective strengths of the three higher education institutions, and opens up unprecedented opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration in different fields of research and study. Tampere3 is also expected to yield savings, as support services can be effectively organized and developed.

Universities Finland UNIFI published a press release today on 18 September 2015, announcing that Tampere3 sets an example for other universities in Finland that are currently seeking to establish closer collaboration with universities of applies sciences. The presidents and rectors of Finnish universities support the Tampere3 process and consider it to be a significant innovation and a forerunner in reshaping the higher education landscape at the regional and national levels in Finland.
