Multidisciplinary research project on learning receives seven-figure funding from Tekes

The Learning Solutions programme of Tekes, the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation, has granted substantial funding to the Finnable 2020 project conducted by the CICERO Learning Network, the University of Helsinki and the Pori unit of Tampere University of Technology (TUT). The project was initiated to respond to the changing demands of learning in the 21st century and explores the skills that learners will need in the future.

In addition to researchers, the project partners include numerous companies, schools and representatives of the public sector. The project involves active international collaboration, especially with the University of Stanford and schools in Silicon Valley. The scientific director of the consortium is Professor Hannele Niemi. The project is coordinated by the CICERO Learning Network, headed by Jari Multisilta, at the University ofHelsinki.
