Kristian Kiili appointed to academy research fellowshipThe Academy of Finland’s Research Council for Culture and Society has awarded funding for 20 new Academy Research Fellows and 30 new Postdoctoral Researchers. One of the new Academy Research Fellows is PhD Kristian Kiili from Tampere University of Technology (TUT).
Kristian Kiili is a Senior Research Fellow at TUT’s Pori Department and the head of the TUT Game Lab that focuses on game based learning, human-computer interaction and user experience research. He currently holds an appointment as a visiting scholar in Stanford University.
Kiili completed his dissertation titled ‘On Educational Game Design: Building Blocks of Flow Experience’ at TUT in 2005. His visit to Stanford relates to the Games to Schools project that is part of Academy of Finland’s The Future of Learning, Knowledge and Skills (TULOS) research programme.
Academy research fellowships are prestigious stepping-stones for talented and experienced scientists on the way to academic leadership positions. The length of the appointment is five years.
