Kari Lappalainen wins Best Technical Paper Award

Researcher Kari Lappalainen of Tampere University of Technology (TUT) has received the Best Technical Paper Award at the ISGT Asia Conference in early December.

The IEEE PES ISGT (Innovative Smart Grid Technologies) Asia 2017 Conference held in Auckland, New Zealand, is one of the leading smart grid conferences in the world. This year more than 200 approved papers from 27 countries were submitted to the conference.

The award-wining paper is a continuation of Kari Lappalainen’s doctoral dissertation that was approved at TUT in November and is titled ‘Output Power Variation and Mismatch Losses of Photovoltaic Power Generators Caused by Moving Clouds’. Lappalainen works in the Laboratory of Electrical Energy Engineering at TUT.
