Gearing up for Horizon 2020

The EU’s new programme running from 2014 to 2020 will combine all research and innovation funding currently provided through the Framework Programmes for RTD, innovation related activities of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

To get ready for Horizon 2020, TUT takes part in organising a seminar on how to seize opportunities in the new funding programme. This one day event on the 15th of May is an opportunity for researchers, project leaders and managers, administrative personnel, representatives of companies and all parties interested in EU projects to learn and have discussions with experts and advisors.

The speakers include Advisor Bror Salmelin, DG CONNECT, the European Commission; Vice President for Research Marja Makarow, Academy of Finland; Dr. Sean McCarthy, Hyperion Ltd.; Research Professor Veikko Rouhiainen, VTT; Vice President Paul Andersson, Tampere University of Technology; and First Vice Rector Pertti Haapala, University of Tampere.

The experts from EU Research and Innovation Programmes (EUTI), European Enterprise Network (EEN) and Tampere Region EU Office are also present.

The event is organized by the ERDF funded project KAHO – Development of international project activity competence and networking of experts – in cooperation with EU Research and Innovation Programmes (EUTI), VTT, Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment in Pirkanmaa, Tampere University of Applied Sciences and Enterprise Europe Network.
