Internationality and student-to-faculty ratio TUT’s strengths in QS university rankingsTampere University of Technology has ranked 380th in the recently published QS World University Rankings. The amount of citations showed the biggest increase to last year’s figures.
QS World University Rankings reviews and lists the world’s best universities based on their academic reputation, citations, student-to-faculty ratio, internationality, and employer reputation. As predicted, world-renowned top universities, such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford, and Harvard, rank at the top of the list.
This year, Tampere University of Technology was ranked 380th. Ten Finnish universities ranked on the list, and TUT achieved the 5th best placement among them.
TUT was especially strong in its student-to-faculty ratio and internationality. TUT’s student-to-faculty ratio was the best in Finland. The amount of international staff and students at TUT was likewise deemed good. Figures indicating the amount of citations to TUT publications had risen from last year.
Among the world’s 26,000 universities, TUT is placed among the top 1.4 per cent. Of the universities listed in the QS World University Rankings, TUT is placed among the top 30 per cent. QS evaluated over 4,000 universities, 980 of which made it on the list.
