The objective of NICO project is to enhance the national know-how and understanding within the area of Sustainable Manufacturing as well as to support Finnish companies in realising competitive and environment friendly products and production networks. Based on the identified requirements and best available practices of Competitive Sustainable Manufacturing (CSM) the research project will build higher level static analysis tools and simulation supported dynamic ICT tools for the design, implementation, measurement and development of CSM networks. The tools will be tested at TUT's case study environment and they will be used when developing the sustainable competitiveness of companies participating in the project.
