Our department does direct subcontracted research work with companies in its own research focus areas. Projects may be preliminary studies, master's thesis projects or even larger target-oriented research tasks. In these kind of initiatives the customer usually receives all immaterial rights to the product.

Projects funded by TEKES  give a good starting point to cooperation. These can be accomplished either as parallel projects (where companies and university get partly funded to projects supporting each other) or companies participating university's TEKES-projects as part sponsors and partners. Most often the participants receive right to use the research results and priority in commercializing the results.
