Best poster prize received by ORC student
Postgraduate student Turkka Salminen from the Optoelectronics Research Centre of TUT was awarded the best poster prize at the ANGEL 2012 conference.
The 2nd Conference on Laser Ablation and Nanoparticle Generation in Liquids, ANGEL 2012 was held in May, 2012 in Taormina, Italy. Turkka Salminen presented his recent work on the silica coating of metal nanoparticles produced by pulsed laser ablation. The coating enables fluorescence enhancement, various chemical coatings of silica surface and an alternative route to surface passivation.
