Surface Engineering
Surface engineering specializes in education of materials and surface engineering specialists and performs high-level research with domestic and international research partners as well as with industry.
Although the main activities recently have concentrated in different aspects of thermal spraying, the scope of the laboratory covers processes from atomic and molecular deposition processes, such as CVD and PVD, to thermal spraying and laser cladding. The goal in activities is to understand the materials-processing-properties interrelations which are essential in advancing industrial applications of the coatings.
