Center for Research on Operations, Projects and Services
Global industrial field has changed: industrial operations no longer deal with manufacturing only, but also with services and complex solutions. Center for Research on Operations, Projects and Services researches and teaches industrial operations management in projects, services and manufacturing particularly at the tactical and strategic levels. The emphasis is on such phenomena that organizations face when they renew and rationalize their operations to succeed in the international competitive landscape. Research is focused on three main topics:
- Industrial firms’ transformation towards service business
- Management and organization in project-based business
- Strategies and operational changes associated with efficiency and growth in manufacturing
Our mission is to support Finnish and international organizations in their business renewal and to generate new knowledge in the international research field. We deploy our mission through research and development projects and basic, doctoral and continuing education in collaboration with industrial firms, public sector organizations and other research institutions.
The research field has a strong foundation in capabilities for product and service development, innovation management, project-based management, and organizational change.
