Services to industry
Department of Mechanics and Design offers research, expert and education services from its knowledge areas also directly to industrial firms. In these cases a bilateral agreement between university and customer about the content and the way to perform the study is made out. These services can wary from small experiments or investigations until wide research projects when researchers from different areas can take part to the research work. Educational services can be common lecture and exercise teaching or they can be specialized detailed to respect the needs of the customer.
Services which Department of Mechanics and Design offers are related to our research and teaching areas. The central areas are:
- vibration and noise measurement and vibration isolation
- strain and durability measurements
- strength computing and optimization of designs
- design and simulation of machines and machine systems
- operation and reliability of machines and processes
- energy efficiency of machines and buildings
Services to industry are related for example to prototypes or products which already are in production or to definition or development of some properties of products. Typical product groups are paper machines, power plants, ships, diesel engines, moving vehicles, process industry machines and industrial processes from machine foundation to modelling of the whole process.
