MSc Thesis Projects and Postgraduate Research Positions in Solar Energy Research
The large-scale harvesting of solar energy is an important action to decelerate the observed climate changes and secure the availability of energy in the future. A solar-energy research project has been on progress at the Electrical Energy Engineering Department from the beginning of 2009 related to the grid-tied-inverter technology and solar-generator topology development. Four doctorate theses will be finalized by the end of 2012, four postgraduate students are doing the research leading to doctorate degrees within a couple of years. The research topics in the project are abundant and challenging needing more resources both at graduate student (i.e., MSc thesis) and postgraduate student (i.e., PhD thesis) levels. Excellent attitude on work and sufficient talent for carrying out the research are required. Willingness to conduct postgraduate studies after finalizing the MSc project will be highly appreciated. The applicants shall have basic knowledge on the operation and controlling of three-phase inverters. The current topics are closely related to inverter control and common-mode-noise issues. Send applications to Prof. Suntio.
