Construction measurement technology applies geodetic and photogrammetric methods to the modelling of buildings and terrain, co-ordinate measuring, satellite positioning and GIS technology.

Virtual construction technologies research focusses on the applicability of BIM over the entire life cycle of a building. The scope of the research covers the model data of the built environment independent of scale. Special focal areas are: data transfer between actors and scales, maintenance of data models during building project and maintenance, and application of model data in the space requirement management process and related calculational methods.
