Department of Automation Science and Engineering
Department of Automation Science and Engineering (ASE) is an important factor in education in the fields of automation. The main topics of education are the basic studies in Systems and Automation, and the advanced studies in Information Systems in Automation, Microsystems, Process Automation, and Systems Analysis.
The Head of Department is professor Jukka Lekkala.
There are several research groups at the Department. The amount of professors, researchers and research assistants is about 60.
The research areas are IT Architectures for Industrial Control, Modeling and Optimization of Systems, Measurement and Control, and Micro Sensors and Actuators. The Cleanroom Laboratory with its facilities and the Anechoic Chamber are included in the Services for business of the Department.
Teaching personnel consists of 12 persons. In addition to them, almost all researchers participate the education.
