Eligibility
Each international master's programme has its own specific admission requirements. You can see the specific requirements on the programme's website. Generally a bachelor's degree and a language test are required.
Please note that all applicants fulfilling the requirements cannot be granted admission. A limited number of the highest qualified students will be accepted in the programmes. There is no fixed quota for the annual intake of international students at Tampere University of Technology.
Admissions are organized once a year and applications are accepted only during the application period.
General academic requirements
Successful applicants must hold the first academic degree, normally a bachelor's degree or equivalent, from a university level institution of higher education in the field of technology or architecture. As a rule, the bachelor's degree is the lower academic degree. The degree is equivalent to at least three years of full-time studies.
You can check the programme-specific requirements concerning the field of the degree on the programmes' web pages.
The CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is an average of all of your grades for the courses in your previous degree. It is an advantage that the overall grade (CGPA) of the degree is at least 70 % but it is not a minimum requirement. The student selection is made by the Admission Committees on the basis of each candidate's academic qualifications and merits shown in the application documents.
Unfortunately applicants who have graduated from Finnish universities of applied sciences cannot be granted admission, as TUT cannot offer the required supplementary studies in English.
Applicants graduating in spring
Students who will soon complete their bachelor's studies can apply for admission to pursue a master's degree. Those who wish to apply during their last semester have to submit an official document that indicates the expected date of graduation and/or the scope of the degree.
All accepted students must have graduated on 31 July 2013 at the latest.
Accepted students who have graduated during the spring must present their original bachelor's degree certificate and transcript of records and the offcial and authenticated translations of the both documents when enrolling as a student at TUT at the latest.
Language requirements
All applicants are required to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the English language. The approved documents for demonstrating English language proficiency are for example TOEFL, IELTS Academic or PTE Academic language tests. More information can be found on the language requirements page.
