Laura Fluerătoru obtained her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ETH Zürich in 2019. During her Master’s thesis, she designed a high-accuracy indoor localization system based on the novel ultra-low-power Ultra-Wideband (UWB) integrated circuit developed by the ETH Zürich spin-off 3db Access. As an early-stage researcher, she will continue her work to achieve centimeter-level accuracy for the localization of wearable devices in the Internet of Things. During her studies, she gained experience in both industry and research from internships at Freescale Semiconductor, École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and Schindler Group. Her research interests include wireless and mobile communications, embedded systems, signal processing, and machine learning.
